Understanding the condition
Alzheimer's disease progressively impairs memory, orientation, language and independence. In Marrakech, remaining at home is still the choice of most families, who are keen to keep their loved one in familiar surroundings, but it quickly becomes exhausting without professional support. Disorientation, sleep disturbances, the risk of wandering and falls, refusal of care: daily life is demanding for carers. Our nurses and care assistants, employed by SOS Nursing and trained in geriatric care, provide structured support at home: help with essential tasks, cognitive stimulation, monitoring and support for the family. In coordination with the treating physician and the neurologist, we adapt care to each stage of the disease in order to preserve the patient's bearings, safety and dignity.
Our care services for this condition
Home nursing services specifically tailored to your medical situation.
Why home care for Alzheimer's Home Care
Keeping the person in their familiar setting, with stable carers and regular routines, slows disorientation, reduces anxiety and limits behavioural disturbances.
What the nurse does at every visit
Help with washing, dressing and meals, checking that treatments are taken, monitoring of hydration and skin condition, and exercises for cognitive stimulation and orientation in time.
Visit frequency and monitoring
From a daily visit to continuous presence, day and night, depending on the stage of the disease and the exhaustion of the carers. Night-time monitoring prevents wandering and keeps the patient safe.
Coordination with your treating physician
Behavioural, sleep and appetite disturbances are passed on to the treating physician and the neurologist. Any medication adjustment is the physician's responsibility; the nurse observes and alerts.
Equipment and home monitoring
Safety adaptations (bed rails, visual cues), monitoring of vital signs, prevention of pressure sores and falls. We advise on adapting the home to limit the risks.
The family's role between visits
We train carers in non-medication calming techniques, in adapted communication and in organising routines, and we offer them regular respite, both day and night.
AMO / CNSS coverage
Depending on the situation, part of the nursing and dependency care may be covered. AMI acts are coded according to the NGAP and reimbursable by AMO/CNSS, with a compliant coded receipt and a signed care record.

Yes. Our carers are trained in non-medication calming techniques. If a treatment adjustment appears necessary, they contact the treating physician; in the event of danger, our private ambulance service can be mobilised.
Beyond care, we train relatives, advise them on adapting the home and offer them periods of respite. Carer burnout is a real risk that our regular presence helps to prevent.
