"Nursing care at home" covers every act a registered nurse can perform where you are staying — at your riad, hotel, villa or apartment in Marrakech. Whether you are recovering from surgery, on a course of treatment, or managing a long-term condition while abroad, our nurses deliver the same standard you would expect from a top clinic, in the privacy of your room.
Post-surgery and recovery care is one of our most requested services, especially for visitors who travel to Marrakech for an operation or arrive after one elsewhere. We change post-operative dressings, give anticoagulant injections, monitor drains and catheters, watch for infection and keep your surgeon informed — so your recovery stays on track without repeated trips to a clinic.
Injections are the most common single request: intramuscular, subcutaneous or intravenous, one-off or as a course (antibiotics, anticoagulants, hormone treatments). Our nurses follow your prescription and schedule exactly and record each injection in your file.
IV drips at your accommodation help you avoid an exhausting hospital stay: rehydration after a stomach upset or heat exhaustion, intravenous antibiotics, vitamin and supportive infusions on prescription. The nurse places the line, sets the rate, monitors how you tolerate it and removes it safely.
Wound care and dressings range from a simple dressing to complex healing — surgical wounds, pressure sores, ulcers, burns or a diabetic foot. The nurse assesses the wound at each visit, adapts the protocol, photographs progress when useful and flags any complication early.
Blood tests and samples are taken where you are staying, at the prescribed time, including fasting first thing in the morning. The sample goes to an accredited partner laboratory and your results reach you confidentially and digitally — no queue at a collection centre.
For expatriate residents we also provide ongoing care: catheter and stoma management, monitoring of diabetes, blood pressure or heart failure, support with treatment adherence and elderly care. Wherever possible the same English-speaking nurse returns, for genuine continuity.
It all happens within a managed framework: SOS Nursing employs and coordinates its nurses, keeps your care file and remains your single point of contact. You receive a transparent estimate before any care, and afterwards an itemised, signed invoice and report — exactly what your travel insurer or assistance company needs to reimburse you.

- Can you provide post-surgery care at my hotel or villa?
- Yes. Post-operative care is one of our specialities. We change dressings, give the prescribed injections, monitor drains, catheters and stitches, watch for any sign of infection and keep your surgeon updated — all where you are staying, so you recover comfortably without repeated clinic visits.
- Do your nurses speak English?
- Yes — we provide care in English, French, Arabic, Spanish and German. Ask for an English-speaking nurse when you contact us and that is who we send.
- Can you set up an IV drip for dehydration in my room?
- Yes, on prescription. Dehydration after a stomach upset, food poisoning or the Marrakech heat is common among visitors. A nurse comes to your accommodation, places the drip, monitors you throughout and removes it safely. If you have no prescription, we can arrange an English-speaking doctor to assess you first.
- How and when do I pay?
- You get a transparent estimate before any care begins. You can pay by card, cash or bank transfer, and we provide an itemised, signed invoice afterwards for your records and your insurer.
- Will my travel or private insurance reimburse this?
- Most travel and private health policies cover home nursing care abroad. We give you the itemised invoice and signed care report your insurer or assistance company needs, and we can liaise with your assistance hotline if you have one.
- What is the difference between nursing care and home help?
- Nursing care means medical acts performed by a registered nurse — injections, dressings, IV drips and so on. Home help is non-medical support such as companionship or help with daily tasks. We offer both, through separate teams.
