On-call doctor (nights & weekends)

Between the closed practice and the hospital A&E, the on-call doctor fills an essential gap: a medical response in the evening, at night, at the weekend and on public holidays, at home. Our coordination team, reachable 24/7, assesses the reason and engages a partner doctor for situations that cannot wait but are not life-threatening: high fever, sudden pain, vomiting, the worsening of a known symptom. The doctor comes to you, examines, treats and, if the situation demands it, arranges the handover to a suitable facility. Like any private service, it complements the public emergency services without replacing them.

What sets our on-call doctor apart is the continuity behind the call. The coordinator who answers at night knows all our services: if the patient's condition calls for nursing care after the visit, an infusion or monitoring until morning, we arrange it without waiting for practices to reopen. The on-call doctor is there for families facing a night-time fever, sudden pain or a symptom worsening on a Sunday, and for travellers unwell at their hotel outside working hours. A private service, it complements the public emergency services without ever replacing them: faced with a life-threatening emergency, the reflex remains SAMU (141) or Civil Protection (150), and our coordination can also dispatch a private ambulance for a transfer.

In practice, the on-call doctor attends the problems that arise at the worst moment: a fever climbing at midnight, abdominal pain on a Sunday, a screaming ear infection in a child, a panic attack, a wound to stitch or protect, an infection getting worse when all the on-call pharmacies are far away. After the visit, nothing stops: if monitoring, an infusion or nursing care is needed until morning, our team provides it, and the report goes to your GP for continuity. Always remember that in life-threatening distress — severe chest pain, loss of consciousness, difficulty breathing — the first reflex remains 141 or 150.
