ECG at home

An electrocardiogram does not always require a trip to a clinic. An ECG at home records the heart's electrical activity directly in your home, for palpitations, breathlessness, non-urgent chest pain, a blood-pressure work-up or a check before starting treatment. The partner doctor takes the trace, interprets it on the spot and explains the result to you, directing you to a cardiologist or further tests if needed. For an older person or a patient who is hard to move, it is a key examination carried out with no tiring travel. In the event of severe chest pain or a collapse, call SAMU (141) first.

An ECG at home makes full sense within our care-journey approach: the trace can be taken during a general consultation or a chronic disease follow-up, and flow on to a blood test at home or a cardiologist's opinion by appointment. For an older person, a bedridden patient or a family monitoring high blood pressure, it is a key examination obtained with no fatigue or travel, interpreted and explained on the spot. A private service, it does not replace the emergency services: in the event of severe chest pain, a collapse or sudden breathlessness, the reflex remains SAMU (141) or Civil Protection (150), and our coordination can arrange a transfer by private ambulance if necessary.

In practice, an ECG at home is for very specific situations: monitoring known high blood pressure, a work-up for palpitations or breathlessness on exertion, a check before introducing certain treatments, the cardiac follow-up of an older person, or simply peace of mind when a frail relative shows non-urgent symptoms. The partner doctor arrives with a portable electrocardiograph, applies the electrodes, records the trace in a few minutes, interprets it on the spot and gives you a written report for your records and your GP. No special preparation is needed, other than avoiding exertion just before and arranging a quiet place to lie down.
