Doctor at Home

In detail

A general consultation at home covers most everyday reasons for seeing a doctor: a flu-like illness, fever, sore throat, urinary infection, pain, unexplained tiredness, a repeat prescription or medical advice. Our coordination team first assesses your request over the phone in order to direct you to the right doctor and prepare the visit. The partner doctor arrives with their bag, takes the time to examine you and gives you a clear prescription, without the rush of an overstretched practice. It is also the gateway to our other services: a blood test, nursing care or follow-up, arranged straight away.

Our real difference lies in the care journey around the consultation. Because SOS Nursing is first and foremost a home nursing team, the partner doctor does not simply prescribe: if a blood test, an injection, a dressing or monitoring is needed, our nurse steps in straight afterwards, the same day, under the same coordination. You have no one else to call. The general consultation suits the busy adult who wants to avoid the waiting room just as well as the older person for whom every trip is an ordeal, the family whose child is unwell, or the patient who simply wants a reliable opinion, examined at home and explained in their own language. In a life-threatening emergency, our private service does not replace the public emergency services: call SAMU (141) or Civil Protection (150) first.

In practice, a general consultation at home covers the vast majority of the reasons that usually lead to a doctor: flu-like illnesses and respiratory infections, sore throats, ear infections, urinary infections, digestive upsets, acute pain, blood-pressure spikes, minor wounds, mild allergic reactions, unexplained tiredness or simply the need for an opinion and a repeat prescription. To prepare for the visit, keep your current prescriptions, your health record and a list of recently taken treatments to hand: this saves the doctor time for the examination and the explanation. In Marrakech, we cover the main districts — from Guéliz to the medina, from Hivernage to the Palmeraie — and arrange the visit during the day as well as in the evening. If your condition changes before the doctor arrives, call our coordination back: we reassess and, if there are signs of severity, we direct you immediately to SAMU (141) or Civil Protection (150). And because the consultation is part of a care journey, everything the doctor prescribes — a lab test, nursing care, equipment — is arranged by the same team, with no need for you to search for a new provider.

Doctor at Home

The benefits

  • No waiting room

You are examined at home, calmly, with no travel or queueing, and no risk of catching something in a waiting room.

  • A doctor who takes the time

A home visit gives the doctor time to listen, examine and explain, for calmer, more reassuring care.

  • A coordinated care journey

The consultation flows on naturally to a blood test, nursing care or follow-up, with no extra steps on your part.

  • Doctor and nurse coordinated

If care is prescribed, our nursing team takes over the same day, with no new provider to look for.

Frequently asked questions

When should I choose a home consultation rather than a practice?
Whenever travelling is difficult (an older person, a young child, a tired patient), when you want to avoid the waiting room, or simply for convenience. For a life-threatening emergency, call the public emergency services first, SAMU (141) or Civil Protection (150).
Can the doctor renew my usual treatment?
Yes, after examining you and reviewing your current treatment, the doctor can renew a prescription and adjust it if your condition justifies it.
Can I have a blood test straight away?
Yes. If the doctor prescribes a work-up, we arrange a sample at home with our laboratory service, with no further travel.
Is the consultation possible in the evening and at the weekend?
Yes. Our coordination operates 24/7; outside practice hours, the request is handled by our on-call doctor.
Will I receive an invoice for my insurance?
Yes, we always provide a compliant itemised invoice and report, useful for an AMO/CNSS, top-up insurance or travel insurance reimbursement.
Can the consultation lead to home nursing care?
Yes, this is our main strength. If the doctor prescribes injections, a dressing, an infusion or monitoring, our nurses take over at home, often the same day, under the same coordination.
Can I book a consultation on WhatsApp?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp or call our coordination line: describe the reason, the location and the person concerned, and we arrange the visit. A coordinator calls you back quickly to confirm the slot and the doctor.
What documents do I receive after the consultation?
The doctor provides a prescription if necessary, where applicable a sick note or a certificate, as well as an itemised invoice and a report. These documents serve your follow-up and any reimbursement (AMO/CNSS, top-up insurance or insurance).
