Expatriates and international health cover: your home care reimbursed
CFE, Allianz Care, Cigna Global, BUPA International, Henner, April International: international health insurers generally reimburse home nursing care in Marrakech, on an itemised invoice.
Understanding your cover
Expatriates and foreign residents in Marrakech most often have international health insurance rather than Moroccan AMO. These contracts are designed to follow the insured anywhere in the world and generally cover, depending on the level chosen, consultations, hospitalisation and home nursing care when medically justified.
The French expatriate health fund (CFE) lets French nationals living abroad keep cover close to the French system; it is frequently combined with complementary insurance (Allianz Care, April International, Henner, etc.) to reduce the out-of-pocket balance. The major international insurers — Cigna Global, BUPA International, Allianz Care, AXA — for their part offer 'expat' contracts with high ceilings and worldwide cover.
The usual process is based on reimbursement on an invoice: you pay for the care, then submit a reimbursement request (claim) together with an itemised invoice and, most often, the prescription. Many insurers offer an app or an online portal to upload these documents and track processing. For significant or extended care, a pre-authorisation may be required.
Our coordination team produces documents to international standards: a properly itemised invoice, a signed care record, the nature and date of the acts, the identity of the state-certified nurse, and a coded receipt compliant with the NGAP nomenclature. On request, we provide a clearly worded invoice, easy to upload to your insurer's portal.
Our nurses work in several languages — French, English, Arabic, Spanish and German — which makes communication and assembling the file easier. We cover the whole of Marrakech and generally respond in under 60 minutes, 24/7. As a managed service, every nurse is identifiable and vetted, an essential point for international insurers.
Tip: before the visit, check whether your contract requires pre-authorisation for home care and identify the applicable ceiling. Our coordination team can prepare a quote or estimate to send to your insurer, and remains available to adjust the invoice to your company's requirements. We are also a private ambulance service, able to arrange medical transport coordinated with your international assistance provider.

Insurance and home care: your questions
- Does my international health insurance cover home care in Marrakech?
- Generally yes, when it is medically justified and within the limits of your contract. Insurers such as CFE, Allianz Care, Cigna Global, BUPA International, Henner or April International reimburse on an itemised invoice. We supply documents to international standards.
- Is a pre-authorisation required?
- For one-off care, rarely; for significant or extended care, often. Check your contract before the visit. Our coordination team can prepare a quote or estimate to send to your insurer to obtain the agreement.
- Does the CFE reimburse nursing care in Morocco?
- The French expatriate health fund (CFE) lets expatriates keep cover close to the French system; it is often combined with a complementary plan (Allianz Care, April, Henner). Reimbursement is made on an itemised invoice, which we provide as standard.
- Will the invoice be accepted by my foreign insurer?
- Our invoice is itemised and compliant: nature of the acts, date, identity of the state-certified nurse and an NGAP-coded receipt. On request, we adapt it to the format your company expects to make uploading and processing easier.
- Do your nurses speak my language?
- Our teams work in French, English, Arabic, Spanish and German. This makes clinical communication easier and helps assemble a file your international insurer can use.
