AMO, CNSS and CNOPS: your home nursing care reimbursed
How Compulsory Health Insurance (AMO) — managed by CNSS for the private sector and CNOPS for the public sector — covers nursing acts performed at home in Marrakech, and how our NGAP-coded receipt speeds up your reimbursement.
Understanding your cover
Compulsory Health Insurance (AMO) is the foundation of health cover in Morocco. For private-sector employees, it is managed by the CNSS; for civil servants and state employees, by the CNOPS. With the scheme's expansion through AMO-TADAMON, a large share of Marrakech's population now has an open right to reimbursement of part of prescribed care, including certain nursing acts performed at home.
Home nursing care falls within the scope of AMO when it is prescribed by a doctor and corresponds to acts listed in the nomenclature. These are most often medical-nursing acts (AMI): injections, infusions, dressings, post-operative monitoring, catheter or stoma care. Each act has a rating — the AMI key-letter followed by a coefficient — which sets the reimbursement base used by the health fund.
The principle remains mostly that of the reimbursement model (pay-then-claim): you pay for the service, then submit your file to the CNSS or CNOPS to be reimbursed according to your cover rate. The quality of your supporting document is therefore decisive. At every visit, our coordination team hands you a signed care record and a coded receipt compliant with the NGAP nomenclature: date, act, AMI rating and the registration number of the state-certified nurse who attended.
The reimbursement rate depends on your scheme and the nature of the act. AMO reimburses part of the national reference tariff (TNR), at a rate specific to your health fund. Any out-of-pocket balance can then be covered by a mutual insurer or a complementary plan — a topic detailed on our dedicated page for mutual insurers.
To activate your rights, you almost always need a prescription describing the care, your CNSS or CNOPS registration number, and the itemised proof of payment we provide. Without a prescription, nursing acts are in principle not covered; we can, however, arrange a medical visit or a teleconsultation before the care is delivered.
As a managed service, we recruit and vet our nurses directly: diploma, licence to practise, identity and civil liability cover. This traceability is precisely what health funds expect — an act performed by an identifiable, documented and coded professional. We are also a private ambulance service: if your condition requires medical transport, the same team coordinates the intervention, whose AMO cover is subject to specific conditions and to prescription.

How to get reimbursed
- 01
Prescription
A doctor prescribes the nursing care. Without a prescription, we arrange a home consultation or a prior teleconsultation.
- 02
Visit
A vetted state-certified nurse delivers the care at home in Marrakech and records every act performed.
- 03
Supporting document
You receive an NGAP-coded receipt and a signed care record, listing the AMI rating of each act.
- 04
Filing your claim
You submit the prescription, the receipt and the form to your CNSS or CNOPS branch, online or at the counter.
- 05
Reimbursement
The health fund reimburses according to your cover rate. A mutual insurer can then cover the out-of-pocket balance.
Insurance and home care: your questions
- Does AMO really reimburse home nursing care?
- Yes, when it is prescribed by a doctor and corresponds to acts listed in the nomenclature (AMI acts). Reimbursement is based on a reference tariff and according to the rate of your CNSS or CNOPS scheme. Our NGAP-coded receipt can be used directly by your health fund.
- Is a prescription mandatory?
- To be reimbursed, yes: without a medical prescription, nursing acts are in principle not covered by AMO. If you do not yet have a prescription, we arrange a medical visit or a teleconsultation before the care is delivered.
- Do you offer direct billing with the CNSS?
- The Moroccan scheme mostly works on a reimbursement model (pay-then-claim): you pay for the service, then claim reimbursement. We hand you all the coded supporting documents needed to make this process simple and fast.
- What reimbursement rate can I expect?
- It depends on the act and your scheme. AMO reimburses part of the national reference tariff; the out-of-pocket balance can be covered by a mutual insurer. We cannot guarantee a precise amount: it is determined by your contract and your health fund.
- What if I need an ambulance transport?
- We are a private ambulance service. Medical transport may be covered by AMO under conditions and on prescription. Our coordination team tells you the steps to follow according to your situation.
