Hivernage is the most hushed district in Marrakech: broad tree-lined avenues, gardens, the Palais des Congrès, and a concentration of grand hotels and upscale residences set between the ramparts, avenue Mohammed VI and the approaches to the Mamounia. The atmosphere is calm and residential by day, livelier in the evening around the restaurants, the Théâtre Royal and the leisure venues. The population is a blend of international travellers, well-off residents and a business clientele that stays in the city regularly.

The district has no hospital at its core, but it is framed by the clinics and practices of Guéliz, just minutes away, and by numerous pharmacies.
