Guéliz is the heart of Marrakech's new town, laid out on a neat grid around avenue Mohammed V, which links the ONCF station to place du 16 Novembre. With its pavement cafés, brasseries, the boutiques of rue de la Liberté and rue de Yougoslavie, its Haussmann-style buildings and modern apartment blocks, the district has a lively, cosmopolitan, distinctly urban feel.
